Temperatures in Central Virginia are expected to approach 100 degrees over the next few days. Hanover County asks everyone to observe the following precautions:

• Stay hydrated
• Avoid strenuous labor in direct sunlight during peak temperatures
• Wear light color clothes
• Check on elderly neighbors and loved ones
• Make sure your outside pets have adequate shade and water

For those without air conditioning in their homes, Hanover County branches of the Pamunkey Regional Library will open on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The locations and other hours of the library branches can be read at: www.pamunkeylibrary.org
