[ARCHIVED] Hanover County Fleet Named Among the Top 100 in America

Hanover Fleet Among the Best

Hanover’s Fleet Management Division has been named among the 100 best fleets in America. Employees from the Fleet Division were honored Friday at a special recognition lunch after learning the National Association of Fleet Administrators, Inc. (NAFA) ranked Hanover’s Fleet Management Division #40 out of more than 38,000 public fleets in North America. NAFA’s Top 100 Fleets program recognizes peak-performing fleet operations and identifies and encourages the ever-increasing levels of performance improvement and innovation within the public fleet industry. County Administrator John A. Budesky and Deputy County Administrator Told E. Kilduff, P.E. met with the Fleet Division Friday as well to personally congratulate the team on a job well done.

NAFA is the world's premier not-for-profit association for professionals who manage fleets of sedans, public safety vehicles, trucks, and buses of all types and sizes for organizations across North America. The competition is blind judged and open to any public fleet in North, Central and South America. The judging is based on 12 criteria for excellence – accountability, use of technology and information, collaboration, creativity, celebration, evidence of high trust culture, performance culture, doing it right the first time, quick efficient turnaround, competitive pricing, staff development, and resource stewardship. Applicants were asked, “Why should you be considered for the 100 Best Fleets?” Dave Guyton, Fleet Manager said the team wrote, “We are more than a team; we are a cohesive family, always striving to do our best to achieve our mutual goal. The ultimate goal we are constantly aiming for is excellence. Excellence in ourselves. Excellence in our team, our family. Excellence in our Fleet.” The Hanover County Fleet Division services and maintains nearly 1400 vehicles for the County completing on average more than 460 work orders monthly.
