[ARCHIVED] Rabies vaccination clinic on April 24

Hanover Community Cats, in conjunction with Hanover County Animal Control, will hold a rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shalom Baptist Church, 8116 Walnut Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.

Also joining in hosting the clinic are VCA Pets First Animal Clinic and Dr. Eleanor Lenher.

This rain-or-shine event will be a drive-through clinic. Animals and owners will remain in the vehicles at all times. Owners are asked to wear masks.

VCA Pets First, Dr. Lenher and support staff will administer the vaccines.

Hanover County Animal Control will sell dog tags.

Other information about the clinic:

    All cats must be in a carrier at all times.

    Vaccination fee is $10 (cash or checks only)

    Fill out pre-registration form, have money ready, and then drive to the area designated for vaccinations.

    Only healthy, non-pregnant dogs and cats, including barn cats, will be vaccinated.

    No wolf hybrids or exotic animals will be vaccinated.

    Leave the designated area when the vaccination is over.

    Put the rabies tag on your dog’s collar and keep the rabies certificate for proof of vaccination.
