The Papa John’s 4K Pizza Run & Relay is being held on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville.
The 4K run and relay is the kick-off for the Hanover Tomato Festival. Mr. Slice, the Papa John’s mascot, will be there too for this fun and filling event. Bring your family, friends, athletic prowess and pizza appetite as this fun-run has you running a short 4 kilometers / 2.5 miles, which any level can compete within an hour. Multiple "pizza stations" will be strategically placed along the race route where a delicious slice of Papa John’s pizza will be waiting for you. Finish the slice and continue on to the next station. If you complete the 4K course as a first place finisher in the overall male or female divisions you will win Papa John’s Pizza for a year! Individuals wanting to participate pay only $20 per person. For 2017, the Pizza Relay is an opportunity to win pizza for a year with four (4) team members. Each member must run or walk approximately 1/2 mile while carrying a pizza box and consume a slice of pizza at each assigned station. The first team to cross the finish line will win pizza for a year and each winning team member will win two free large pizzas. The Pizza Relay is $10 per person.

Packet pick-up will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 7. Run and relay begin at 6:00 p.m. The Friday kick off to the Hanover Tomato Festival will have live musical entertainment provided by AO1 Productions, over 50 (fifty) vendors highlighting unique and specialty products, and if you’re still hungry, food vendors will be selling delicious Hanover Tomato inspired food items.
