Parents, if you are still searching for a fun summer-camp-enrichment-program for your child, Parks and Recreation has the solution. Good news too, we still have space at many sites.
The Summer Sneakers program, for rising 1st through rising 6th graders, will be at five elementary school sites this year, with some sites already full. Each two-week session has themed weeks with planned activities, plenty of arts, crafts, plus large and small group games to fill the day! The fun doesn’t stop there. Campers will go on field trips that include: Chuck E. Cheese, Jumpology, and a Hanover park visit for competitive, active fun in a Color War activity. Special visitors will stop by the camp sites to engage the campers in exciting and educational presentations. Our guest visitors will include: Young Rembrandts, Jonathan Austin juggler, Mickey Moore Magician, Rockin Parodies, Stretch n’ Grow, Richmond Wildlife Center, Ashland Bee Keepers, Virginia Living Museum, and more! The Hanover resident cost is $110, and $165 for non-residents. With plenty of elementary school locations throughout Hanover to include: Pole Green, Cold Harbor, Kersey Creek, Cool Spring, and Henry Clay. Please check availability as some site locations have already filled due to the popularity of this camp program.
