[ARCHIVED] Voting Information for 2020 Election

A message from Teresa F. Smithson, Director of Elections/General Registrar for Hanover County:

Dear Hanover County Voters,

You may have or will be getting an absentee application from both political parties as well as non-profits such as the Center for Voter Information.

Our office didn’t have anything to do with this action; however, the applications can be used to request an absentee ballot. If you wish to use one of these applications, please be sure to complete them and it includes the last four digits of your social security number.

We will have the ballot drop box open to receive your returned ballot if you wish to drop it off instead of mailing it back to us. The drop box area is under surveillance at all times.

The Voting Center is currently open until Saturday, October 31 for in-person early voting in the Wickham building at the County Complex, located at 7497 County Complex Road.  Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 24 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, November 3, Election Day, all County polling precincts will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

You can confirm your registration status, update your voter information, register to vote and request an absentee ballot by visiting the Department of Elections website.
