A message from Teresa F. Smithson, Director of Elections/General Registrar for Hanover County:
Dear Hanover County Voters,
You may have or will be getting an absentee application from both political parties as well as non-profits such as the Center for Voter Information.
Our office didn’t have anything to do with this action. However, the applications can be used to request an absentee ballot. If you wish to use one of these applications, please be sure to complete them and that includes the last four of your social security number.
We will have the ballot drop box open to receive your returned ballot on September 21st if you wish to drop it off instead of mailing it back to us. The drop box area is under surveillance at all times.
The Voting Center will be open starting September 18th and until Saturday, October 31st for in-person early voting in the Wickham building at the County Complex. Our hours are Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 5PM and Saturday, October 24th and 31st from 9AM – 5PM.
Election Day, all County polling precinct will be open on November 3rd starting at 6AM – 7PM.
If you are unsure of your voter registration status, please visit the Dept. of Elections website to check. You can register to vote, update your voter information and even request an absentee ballot on that site.
