Hanover County Parks and Recreation continues to take the safety and health of our community as a top priority, taking actions to limit the spread of this virus. Effective Monday, March 16, all permitted use of athletic fields, picnic shelters, historic sites as well as all department-sponsored programs and activities are canceled through Sunday, March 29.
At this time, Hanover County parks remain open, including our playgrounds, skate park, dog parks and trails. Be advised that the amenities in these areas are not sanitized, so use with caution and follow the CDC health and safety guidelines. We reiterate the importance of social distancing and the avoidance of large gatherings and group activities.
We understand the importance of the park system to our residents and will re-evaluate the need for closures and cancellations as this unprecedented situation evolves. Please stay up to date with COVID-19 facts through the CDC and Virginia Department of Health.
