[ARCHIVED] Hanover Memorial Day Program

The public is invited to the Memorial Day program being held at the Hanover Veterans Memorial located at Hanover Wayside Park on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. As part of the Memorial Day program, we will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the dedication of the Veterans Memorial. 

Veterans who gave their life defending our Country and those who are currently serving to ensure our freedom will be honored. Founding committee members of the Veterans Memorial will also be recognized. 

  • Master of Ceremonies: James Kickler, Chairman - Hanover County Veterans Memorial Ceremony 
  • Invocation: Joel Bradberry, Pastor, Harvest Christian Fellowship
  • National Anthem: Honorable Charles McGhe
  • Pledge of Allegiance: Dan Johnson, Vice Chair – Hanover County Veterans Memorial Committee
  • Guest Speaker: LTC Jon C. Hatfield, USA (Retired)
  • Laying of Memorial Wreath
    • Andy Whatley, Color Guard Captain, VFW Post 9808
    • Colin Williamson, Chaplain and Honor Guard LT, American Legion Post 175
  • Rifle Salute: Hanover County Sheriff’s Department
  • Taps: Wally Fleming, Hanover Concert Band
  • Founding member and memorial brick recognition: Greg Sager, Director, Hanover County Parks and Recreation
  • Benediction: Joel Bradbury
