[ARCHIVED] New Software System to enhance services for Building Inspections, Planning and Public Works

Beginning the week of May 20, 2019, the Hanover County Building Inspections, Planning and Public Works will go live with a new software system that will improve customer service. For example, customers will have an increased ability to pay fees to these departments online, to report Code violations and to check the status of their applications.

The changeover to the new system means that beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019, and continuing through Sunday, May 19, there will be no access to the online citizen portal, Click2Gov Services, including online inspection scheduling, Building Permit or Planning project information. No online permit applications or fees will be accepted during the transition.

Starting Friday, May 17, limited services will be available in person; you can schedule building inspections by calling (804) 365-6040. However, no building permits will be issued and there will be no one-stop permitting as the County migrates its information to the new software system.

There will also be no access to the Interactive Voice Response System, which customers use to schedule inspections by phone, beginning 4:00 p.m. on May 16 through Sunday, May 19.

During the week of May 20, the Interactive Voice Response System will be restored for phone inspection scheduling and the new software system will go live. The new Community Development online citizen portal will be available on the Hanover County website.

For more information, please contact the departments of Building Inspections, (804)365-6040, Planning (804)365-6171, or Public Works at (804)365-6181.
