Anyone
who wants to learn more about how Hanover plans for future development of the
County is invited to apply for the Citizens Planning Academy, which will be
held on five evenings beginning January 31, 2019.
The
Academy will provide each participant with a planning framework that is
specific to Hanover County. A primary goal of the Academy is the enhancement of
citizen knowledge about the planning process, the legal foundations of planning
and the role citizens can play in developing a dialogue regarding Hanover
County’s future.
The
class will be limited to no more than 30 participants and will meet from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on the
following dates:
January 31
February 4
February 11
February 21
February 25
Each session is expected to last
about two and one-half hours. Participants will be recognized by the Hanover
County Board of Supervisors on March 27 at 6 p.m.
A
nominal fee of $30 per participant is required to cover the cost of materials
and refreshments. It is important that each class member understands the time
commitment involved. If warranted, Hanover County may hold additional Planning
Academies in future years to accommodate individuals unable to attend this
session.
Applications
will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday,
January 18. Applicants selected to participate will be notified by the
Hanover County Planning Office shortly thereafter.
