[ARCHIVED] Applicants Sought for 2018 Planning Academy

Anyone who wants to learn more about how Hanover plans for future development of the County is invited to apply for the Citizens Planning Academy.  It will be held on five evenings beginning January 29, 2018.

In the 2018 Hanover Planning Academy, participants will learn more about rules and regulations governing zoning and subdivisions, the legal bases for planning, capital improvements planning, and ethics in the planning process.  The course will include an opportunity for each participant to discuss the County’s future.

The class will be limited to no more than 30 participants and will meet on the following dates: January 29; February 5; February 12; February 15; and February 26.  Hours for each class will be 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Each participant selected must commit to attend all the sessions.  There is a fee of $30 per adult participant, to cover the cost of materials and refreshments.  In selecting participants for the class, an effort will be made to achieve a broad-based representation of the community.

Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19.  Applicants selected to participate will be notified by the Hanover County Planning Office shortly thereafter.
