[ARCHIVED] Same Day Access to Services Offered by Community Services Board

Beginning December 1, individuals will no longer need an appointment that are seeking help for mental health or substance use concerns, or who want to begin the process of accessing services related to a developmental disability.

The program is called Same Day Access and it is offered by Hanover’s Community Services Board.  Individuals will be able to visit the CSB’s Ashland office at 12300 Washington Highway from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (except County holidays) and speak with a staff member.  After eligibility and other screening, he or she will receive an initial comprehensive assessment that same day.

Within seven business days of the initial visit, individuals will have their first treatment appointment and/or a plan for accessing resources and/or services.

CSB staff members conducting the assessment are trained to assess for substance use disorders as well as mental health and co-occurring disorders.  They will also be available to assess and consult related to developmental disabilities.

To expedite the intake process for developmental disability services, individuals will need a psychological evaluation.  If one has been completed, individuals will need to bring a copy.  If one has not been completed, the staff will provide referral information for other providers that can complete this evaluation.

Individuals experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis, can call 804-365-4200, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Crisis intervention services will remain unchanged.
