Board Appoints Mechanicsville District School Board Seat

In a 5-2 vote, the Hanover County Board of Supervisors voted on May 25, 2022, to appoint John E. Redd to the Mechanicsville District Seat on the Hanover School Board. The appointment is effective July 1. Nine nominations for the school board seat were submitted to the Hanover County Board of Supervisors during a public hearing April 27.

School Board members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to serve four-year terms. Each of Hanover’s seven election districts has a member on the School Board, which sets policy for the Hanover County Public School system.
